1. Introduction
Welcome to Dockbison. Dockbison LLC ("Dockbison", "we", "us") operates the dockbison.com website and the DockBison harbor management application. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data.
2. Information We Collect
We may collect, use, store, and transfer these categories of data:
- Identity Data: first name, last name, username, or similar identifier.
- Contact Data: billing address, delivery address, email address, and telephone numbers.
- Technical Data: IP address, login data, browser, time zone, operating system, and platform.
- Usage Data: information about how you use our website, products, and services.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use personal data to provide the Dockbison service, process payments, secure accounts, support participating harbors, comply with legal obligations, and communicate about account and payment activity.
4. Sharing of Information
We may share data with service providers who help operate Dockbison, including payment, hosting, email, SMS, and system administration providers, and with professional advisers where needed.
Mobile Information and SMS Compliance
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
Dockbison LLC sends two types of text messages, and each has its own separate consent:
- Login verification codes (one-time): when you log in or create an account, you enter your mobile number and tap Send Code to request a one-time login code. That request is your consent for this single transactional code; no checkbox is required, and this consent covers the login code only.
- Payment receipts (optional): you may enable a separate, optional consent control labeled “Text me my receipt” — a checkbox under Account → Notifications, or the optional opt-in offered after checkout once your payment is already complete — to also receive an SMS payment receipt with a link to view your itemized receipt. This control is unchecked by default; enabling it is optional and is not required to log in or to pay. The text message itself contains only the link; any marina access details, such as bathroom or Wi-Fi codes, are shown on the itemized receipt after you log in and are never placed in the SMS itself.
Consent is separate for each message type. Tapping Send Code consents only to the one-time login code. Consent to receive payment-receipt text messages is given only by enabling the separate “Text me my receipt” control (the checkbox under Account → Notifications, or the optional post-payment opt-in after checkout) and tapping “I agree” in the confirmation dialog it opens, and is never a condition of logging in or of any purchase.
How the payment-receipt opt-in works (optional):
- You find the separate “Text me my receipt” control, unchecked by default: a checkbox under Account → Notifications, or the optional opt-in offered after checkout once your payment is already complete.
- Enabling it opens a confirmation dialog with the full disclosure shown below; we record your consent only when you tap “I agree.”
- You can cancel, or leave the control unchecked, and still sign in and pay — payment never depends on it.
“Text me my receipt. I agree to receive an automated SMS payment receipt from Dockbison LLC at this number, including a link to view my itemized receipt. Consent is optional and not required to pay. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. See our Privacy Policy and Terms.”
Staff-assisted opt-in (at the marina): when marina staff add you or take your payment at the counter, they read you the same receipt disclosure shown above and record your consent only if you agree. This is optional and is never required to pay or to be added to a boat.
Message frequency varies - typically 1-4 messages per visit to a participating harbor.
Message and data rates may apply. Standard carrier rates apply to all messages.
Sending number: SMS messages are sent from +1 (716) 274-9323.
Opt-out: you can stop SMS messages at any time by any of these means: reply STOP to any message, email support@dockbison.com, or contact your harbor office. Reply HELP for assistance.
5. Data Security
We use reasonable security measures to prevent personal data from being accidentally lost, misused, accessed without authorization, altered, or disclosed.
6. Communication Preferences
You can ask us to stop sending SMS messages at any time - including verification codes and payment receipts with a link to view your itemized receipt - by replying STOP. Reply HELP for assistance.
