Dockbison LLC — SMS Opt-In / Consent Surfaces
These are the SMS opt-in / consent surfaces used by Dockbison LLC on dockbison.com.
Dockbison LLC sends two distinct types of SMS, and each has its own separate consent. A boater opting in to one does not opt in to the other:
- Login verification code (one-time, transactional): requested by the boater when they tap Send Code on the phone-entry / login page.
- Payment receipt (optional, recurring): opted into with a separate “Text me my receipt” consent control that is unchecked by default. Selecting it opens a confirmation dialog that presents the full disclosure, which the boater must agree to before any consent is recorded.
Receipt consent is never bundled with login, Terms acceptance, or payment — it is optional and not required to pay, and a boater can sign in and pay without ever opting in to receipt texts.
Staff-assisted opt-in: marina staff can also record a boater’s receipt consent at the counter (when adding the boater or taking payment) by reading the same disclosure aloud and checking an attestation box only if the boater agrees — optional, and never required to pay or to be added.
Sender: Dockbison LLC. Messages are sent from +1 (716) 274-9323. Privacy Policy: /privacy-policy.html · Terms: /terms.html.
1. Login verification code (one-time)
This is exactly what a boater sees when they enter their mobile phone number on the public phone-entry / login page at dockbison.com. The one-time login code is a user-initiated transactional message: the boater enters their own number and taps Send Code to request a single login verification code. Notice is shown at the point of collection — the consent disclosure appears directly above the Send Code button. SMS is not required to sign in: an email-code sign-in option is available on the same page.
By tapping Send Code you agree to receive a one-time login verification code from Dockbison LLC by SMS. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. See our Privacy Policy and Terms.
2. Payment receipt (optional opt-in)
Receipt texts are sent only after the boater actively enables a separate consent control that is unchecked by default and is never bundled with login, Terms acceptance, or payment — it is optional and not required to pay. Leaving it unchecked means no receipt text is ever sent.
The consent control appears in two places in the live app:
- Account → Notifications: a “Text me my receipt” checkbox in the boater’s account settings, unchecked until the boater opts in.
- After checkout: once a payment is already complete, the success screen offers an optional “Text me my receipt” opt-in — payment never depends on it.
In both places, selecting the control opens a confirmation dialog that presents the full SMS disclosure (shown below). Consent is recorded only when the boater taps I agree; tapping Cancel leaves the control unchecked and sends nothing.
I agree to receive an automated SMS payment receipt from Dockbison LLC at this number, including a link to view my itemized receipt. Consent is optional and not required to pay. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. See our Privacy Policy and Terms.
The checkbox above is unchecked by default; the full disclosure is shown in the dialog before any consent is recorded, and each consent is stored with a timestamp and the exact disclosure text shown.

These surfaces mirror the live app: the login one-time-code disclosure renders at /login, and the optional receipt consent control renders under Account → Notifications and on the post-checkout success screen.
